I Need Accountability

Here we are, half way through the fourth month of the new year.  I realized this morning I haven’t accomplished or even thought much about the goals I set for the year way back at the end of last December.  Not a very good track record, but for me it’s nothing new.  My husband once told me that I have really good ideas but I quit before I get anything completed, harsh to hear but so very true.  I’m sure you’ve heard the saying about the person who keeps doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results…yep that’s me.  After reading and following many different internet mentors, I’ve picked a few ideas I’m going to try.  I think there is no one answer or guide that fits so I am combining a few of them.  I’m sure some will work and some will not, it will be a process to find my perfect fit.  I recognize the fact that I need accountability and this is where I hope to find it.  I also sincerely hope that if you are feeling the same way I am that maybe I can help you too.  Here is a simple outline of what I hope I can accomplish this week.  I’ve already made my first mistake, change that to “this is what I will accomplish this week.”

  1. Write a list of things I need to get done.
  2. Write a list of things I want to get done.
  3. Transfer those items to my calendar and give each one a date to start and a date to finish.

I know that doesn’t sound like much, but when you’re planning a whole year (or what is left of it) it is a little overwhelming.  I know myself well enough to know that if I don’t write it down I won’t remember.

Do you have difficulty staying on task and completing your own goals too?  Would you like join me?  We can check in here with each other every Monday to cheer each other on and help each other stay focused.  If you don’t want to comment here you may email me at hollyhocksandheaven@gmail.com.  We can do this!
